Sell your car
Two ways to do it. Take a trade-in figure and be done today, or consign it, wait for the right buyer and get more. Send me the details once and I will quote you both.
Trade in
I buy the car from you. You get a figure, we settle any outstanding finance, and it is finished. Fastest and most certain, and the price reflects that.
Worth it if you need the car gone, or if you are buying something from me and want the value taken straight off the next car.
Consign, and how the price works
We look at your car and agree a figure with you. If it sells, you get that figure. There is no commission taken off it afterwards and no fee at handover, so the number you agree at the start is the number that reaches your account.
We then market the car at retail and our margin sits in the difference. That is our side of it and it does not come out of yours.
You know exactly what you are getting before you commit to anything.
Which one suits you
| Trade in | Lower price, settled today |
| Consign | Higher price, you wait |
| Fees taken from you | None either way |
| Your effort | The same, I handle it |
| Outstanding finance | Settled at completion either way |
Ask for both figures before you decide. The gap between them tells you what the waiting is actually worth on your car.
Why it sells for more through us
What we take care of
Photography and the listing itself, written the same way as everything else on this site, with the real numbers rather than a monthly figure.
Enquiries, viewings and test drives, arranged around you. Buyer screening, so you are not meeting whoever turns up.
Outstanding finance settled directly at completion, the LTA transfer, and the paperwork on both sides.
How it goes
- Send me your car plate, current mileage and an access code, which you generate yourself on OneMotoring. Tell me if there is outstanding finance.
- I come back with a figure. If it works for you, we agree it and that is your number.
- Photos, listing, and the car goes out across the channels.
- I handle enquiries and viewings and only come back to you when there is something real.
- On completion, any outstanding loan is settled and the balance goes to you.
The part worth being straight about
Consignment takes longer than a trade-in. How much longer depends on the car, the price and what the market is doing. A well priced car with COE left tends to move; something priced above the market will sit no matter who is selling it.
If it is taking longer than expected I will tell you why and what I would change, rather than leaving it listed and quiet. And if at any point you would rather just take a trade-in figure, say so.
Want both figures?
Send me the plate, mileage and access code and I will come back with a trade-in number and a consignment number, so you can compare them.
